Salon 56 donates to Pink Hair for Hope
Salon 56 makes a donation Pink Hair for Hope, an organization that supports women who
are undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Salon 56 believes in giving back to their community and encourages 100% participation from their stylists.  Contributions include:

- Salons of Substance, a coalition of San Diego’s top 20 salons, have come together to strengthen their philanthropic presence in San Diego County. Each partnering salon believes in giving back to its community. Together, they leverage their philanthropic endeavors to ensure a greater impact on the local causes they support.

- Salon 56 “Teacher That Made a Difference in Your Life” contest in partnership with Civil Disobedience and Computers 2 SD Kids. Winner receives a complete image makeover from Salon 56, a new outfit from Civil Disobedience, and 5 refurbished computers for their classroom from Computers 2 SD Kids.

- Salon 56 Cut-a-thon donated $2,100 for a mother who lost her leg due to diabetes.

- Auction item support of Mary’s House, ArtsBusXpress, Computers2SDKids, and the San Diego Blood Bank

- Funding Cooper’s Cause, the travel/treatment of a local child for NeuroBlastoma, a childhood cancer

- Sponsoring monthly blood drive for the San Diego Blood Bank in support of Cooper’s Cause

- Providing monthly full-salon services for Mary’s House, an 18-month transitional living program designed to meet the needs of at-risk and former female foster youth who have recently transitioned out of San Diego's Foster Care System. The goal of Mary's House is to provide these at-risk women safe shelter, life skills training, support and the advocacy they need to successfully transition into a self-sufficient and independent life. Salon 56 offers these girls complimentary image makeovers during their 18-month stay.

- Collecting/donating gently used clothing for battered women’s shelters.

Salon 56 continues to seek out charities that focus on children, drug and alcohol recovery, low-income, battered women’s shelters, homeless family shelters, and the support of treatment for children’s cancers and will continue to look for philanthropic causes that they can support to ensure the world we live in is a beautiful one.

Salon 56 donates its hair clippings to ExcessAccess®.
